Jeff Sawyer, MD
Dr. Sawyer received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Arizona. He then received his medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine. He performed his postdoctoral training at the Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
Dr. Sawyer is residency trained and board certified in Emergency Medicine. He has received certification for Advanced Trauma Life Support, Missouri Base Station Physician, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Neonatal Advanced Life Support. He is also certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Instructor and Provider. Prior EMS director at Banner Baywood Hospital. Currently, he is Lab Director and CEO of East Valley Urgent Care. I will personally guarantee you will have the best urgent care experience like you have never experienced before.
Doug Hobbs, MD
Dr. Hobbs received his Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Brigham Young University with a minor in Spanish. He then received his medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine where he received the Excellence in Emergency Medicine Award. He performed his postdoctoral training in the University of New Mexico School of Medicine's Department of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Hobbs is board certified in Emergency Medicine. Currently, he is Medical Director at East Valley Urgent Care. I love urgent care medicine and will make your urgent care experience one you will never forget.
Jeffrey Zacher, MD
Jeffrey Zacher M.D. is Board Certified in Family Practice. He graduated from the South Dakota School of Medicine and concluded his Practice Residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Zacher has had 20 years of Family Practice, Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine experience. On his time off his hobbies consist of politics and trivia. He looks forward showing our East Valley Urgent Care patients how much of the pleasant and trouble-free facilities we have to offer you.
Lance Huff, PA-C
Lance was born and raised in the great state of Texas. Lance Huff PA-C received his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Texas Tech University. He then received his degree in Physician Assistant Studies from A.T. Still University in Mesa, AZ. He has been working at East Valley Urgent care since graduating from Physician Assistant school in 2005. When he is not working some of his favorite activities include working out, hunting, mountain biking, basketball and other outdoor activities. Lance enjoys working in the urgent care setting while helping patients to feel better as he truly cares about the patients he sees.
Ty Hanks, DO
Ty Hanks D.O. is originally from the Phoenix area. He spent time in Japan and the east coast where he became interested in Medicine. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Midwestern University receiving a Bachelor's in Biomedical Sciences and went on to attend the Kansas City school of Medicine and Biosciences. He and his wife enjoyed the Midwest but preferred to come back to the Phoenix area to finish training at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical center where he completed his Family Medicine residency. He enjoys sports medicine and outdoor activities. Dr. Hanks is an accomplished mountain biker and on his days off he can be found on the trails, climbing brutal hills and catching big air. He has a passion for urgent care medicine and is dedicated to making sure every patient he sees has a great experience at East Valley Urgent Care. When patients come to visit us we know, “You can’t wait to feel better”.
Jennifer Scardino, PA-C
Jennifer was born and raised in Dubuque, IA. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at the University of Northern Iowa. She went on to receive her Master of Science in Physician Assistant studies from Des Moines University in 2010. When not working she enjoys the outdoor activities that Arizona has to offer, sports (Go Iowa Hawkeyes!), concerts, plays, and the company of family and friends. She looks forward to helping others in need feel better.
Michael Biscoe, MD
Dr. Biscoe is American Board of Medicine certified with extensive experience in the fields of urgent care, emergency, primary care and occupational medicine. He attended Vanderbilt University, Howard University College of Medicine, and completed residency at D.C General/Georgetown University Medical Center. He and his wife enjoy spending time with their five children. Dr. Biscoe also has a passion for fitness, nutrition and actively supports our supervised weight-loss treatment. He loves the diversity and challenge of urgent care medicine delivering fast yet thorough service to his patients.
Greg Pritchard, PA-C
Gregory Pritchard PA-C comes to East Valley Urgent Care from Washington State were he has been a lifetime resident. He completed pre-professional studies in biology and chemistry at Walla Walla College and University before graduating with honors in Physician Assistant Studies from Kettering College of Medical Arts. He completed post graduate training in emergency medicine through Kettering Medical Center's sponsorship as well. Since graduation Mr. Pritchard has practiced emergency medicine for over 10 years and has been consecutively certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor, and Advanced Trauma Life Support. He maintains a current license to practice medicine in the States of Arizona and Washington. Mr. Pritchard strives to remain current on topics of emergent and urgent medicine by completing 50-100 hours per year in continuing education and participating in many annual workshops and conferences in order to provide the highest quality of care to his patients.
Mr. Pritchard spends his time away from the clinic traveling to ski locations, mountain biking, golfing, and trail riding with his two adolescent boys. He truly enjoys his work and is committed to providing excellent care with the East Valley Urgent Care team.
Shea Perillo, PA-C
Shea Perillo PA-C was born and raised in the state of Nebraska. She received her bachelor’s degree in biology at Mount St. Mary’s College, Los Angeles , CA. Shea then moved to the state of Arizona to attend A.T. Still University in Mesa where she received her master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Her passion to work in urgent care medicine subsequently brought her to East Valley Urgent Care. Shea is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the Arizona State Association of Physician Assistants (ASAPA). She enjoys spending time with her husband and many outdoor activities such as running and hiking. Shea is committed to providing compassionate and superior care to her patients.
Matt Barker, PA-C
Matthew was born in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. He is married with 2 children and has lived in the greater Phoenix metro area for nearly 30 years. On his off days he enjoys playing and watching sports and spending time with his family.
Matthew Barker PA-C obtained his Bachelor of Science in Physiological Sciences from University of Arizona. He then received his degree in Physician Assistant Studies from A.T. Thao Messigner, PA-C
Thao Messinger is a Physician Assistant, Board Certified by the National Commission of Physician Assistants. She was born in Vietnam and raised in Southern California. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Arizona State University. She then received her Master of Science degree as a Physician Assistant at AT Still University and has been practicing medicine since 2005. Thao started her career in urgent care and enjoys the variety of urgent care medicine. She also has experience in family medicine. Thao is also certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. With regard to patient care, she believes that an important part of helping the patient feel better is to ensure that her patients have a great and hassle-free experience when choosing East Valley Urgent Care. Thao enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.
Rance (Rick) Amend, FNP-C
Rance (Rick) Amend is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with extensive emergency department experience. He has a masters degree from Northern Arizona University and training in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support, as well as being a Certified Emergency Nurse. Rick enjoys working in an urgent care environment where helping the patient feel better as quickly as possible is everyone’s goal. During his time off you can find Rick cavorting with his family, friends and two labs.
Nicolas D. Snyder, PA-C
Nicolas D. Snyder received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Wright State University, Dayton OH. He completed his Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from ATSU Mesa, AZ. Nicolas’ previous work experience includes Emergency medicine and Radiology in Denver, CO. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, five cats and one rabbit. He enjoys travelling, backpacking, snowboarding, fishing, tennis, jogging, the violin, photography and artwork. Nicolas loves interacting with his patients and wants them to leave East Valley Urgent with a smile.
Mark Tosca, DO
Dr. Mark Tosca, D.O., is a board certified family practice physician. Dr. Tosca is originally from the Boston area, but grew up in Tucson. After receiving a bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona in Dietetics, he worked as a Registered Dietitian in St. Louis, Missouri and Parlier, California.
His medical training was through the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He served as the Chief Resident of the Tempe St. Luke's Division of the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine's Post-Doctoral Training Institution in Family Practice and graduated in 2006.
Dr. Tosca enjoys spending time with his wife and two girls. He also enjoys spending time with his brothers and father on the golf course. Dr. Tosca is excited to have found a home at East Valley Urgent Care where he can deliver the kind of personalized urgent care experience he feels patients deserve.
Kelly Hancey, PA-C
Originally from Idaho, Kelly moved to Utah where she earned her bachelor's degree in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Brigham Young University. She then continued her education at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ, and pursued training in Physician Assistant studies. Her primary areas of interest are emergency medicine and dermatology. With her free time, Kelly enjoys skiing, hiking, traveling, and reading. She looks forward to meeting and serving patients at the East Valley Urgent Care.
